Children's Rights: Past, Present and Future

The Convention on the Rights of the Child is a 23 year old instrument and, since its adoption, the world has undergone various and substantial transformations. In order to regulate newly emerging circumstances, one option is to devise tailored Additional Protocols. But, would a new Convention be preferable? These questions lead to a more general, but basic, reflection on whether human rights are the best way to improve children's lives.
