The National Day Against Paedophilia and Child Pornography, which falls on 5 May, invites us to keep our attention focused on an issue that unfortunately affects many children and adolescents. With the advent of digital technology, abuses against minors have taken on new forms and have spread globally, with very serious consequences for the health and future of young people.
Il silenzio non protegge. L’abuso sessuale è un problema di tutti (Silence Does Not Protect. Sexual abuse is everyone's problem) is the title of the meeting organised by Telefono Azzurro on the occasion of the Day, scheduled for 5 May in Rome, at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. For information about the meeting, please visit Telefono Azzurro website.
To further explore the theme of the occasion, we propose the legislative framework prepared by the Department for Family Policies and the National Centre for Documentation and Analysis on Childhood and Adolescence.
Also worth noting are the following study materials selected from the A.C. Moro Innocenti Library: bibliographic research on paedophilia; bibliographic research on child pornography; bibliographic research on online child pornography.
Additional materials and news can be found on this website under Child pornography and Sexual abuse of children and adolescents, accessible from the “Topics” navigation menu.
