About us

The Department for Family Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which exercises the functions of national guidance and coordination on child policies , is also responsible for the National Centre of Documentation and Analysis for Childhood and Adolescence (in compliance with Decree Law of 12 July 2018, No. 86, as amended by Law of 9 August 2018, No. 97).

The typical functions of the Centre concern the promotion, disclosure and communication of the policies relating to children and adolescents.
More specifically (according to article 3, paragraph 2, letters a), b), c), d), g) of Presidential Decree of 14 May 2007, No. 103), such functions concern the activities of documentation, analysis, research and monitoring, information and promotion, as well as a bibliographical collection of studies and publications on children.
The Department for Family Policies and the Istituto degli Innocenti – based on a collaboration agreement – jointly work to synergically perform all the typical activities of the Centre, thus showing the Italian commitment aimed at the full implementation of the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
