On 24 July 2025, the 2025-2027 Sixth National Plan of Action and Interventions for the Protection of the Rights and Development of Persons of Evolving Age was approved by the Council of Ministers, following a proposal by the Minister for the Family, Birth Rate and Equal Opportunities, Eugenia Roccella.

The Plan aims to give priority to policies dedicated to children and adolescents and to maintain Italy's commitments to the full implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Plan is structured into three macro-areas of intervention, which are closely interconnected: Parenting (which includes seven actions aimed at informing parents about services, rights and opportunities available and accessible locally), Education (which helps to bridge the significant digital divide between the skills of adults and minors) and Health (which involves actions focused on promoting, preventing, and raising awareness about young people’s well-being).
