Bibliographic review on childhood and adolescence 1/10 - Foreign pupils in Italy

Rassegna bibliografica infanzia e adolescenza 1/2010, edited by Maddalena Colombo (Lecturer in Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes), provides, in this issue, an overall picture of the presence of foreign pupils in the various schools, from infant school to secondary school in Italy.

The filmographic part of the thematic path, curated by Fabrizio Colamartino, examines documentaries made since the early 1990s on the theme of school integration of young immigrants. What emerges is a portrait of a society that is in fact multi-ethnic but which, especially as far as schools are concerned, still hesitates to identify the right strategies and tools to include second-generation immigrants in an increasingly contradictory and complex cultural fabric.
