Report on the condition of children in Italy: 2010-2011

The drafting of the biennial report responds to Italy's obligation to monitor the living conditions of children and adolescents and the implementation of their rights, in accordance with the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, ratified by Law 176 of 27 May 1991, Ratification and Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The reflections contained in this report place the child at its centre, with a description of growth processes, see the child as a citizen who is the recipient of policies and intervention programmes and as being a subject exposed to different vulnerabilities in terms of living conditions.
This work is in continuity with previous reports and aims to update the latest edition of the Report. The time span considered here concerns the years 2010-2011, but in reality, as always happens in order to provide continuity to the analyses and background scenarios of the studies, some contributions move the reference horizon a little further forward or backward.
