The Handbook of childcare services, promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Family Policies and carried out with the collaboration of Istituto degli Innocenti of Florence, continues to represent - now in its fifth edition -  is a valid and updated tool for those who work in the complex and articulated world of educational services dedicated to children from 0 to 6 years.

The structure of the Handbook is articulated along a series of areas that guide the reader through the different topics of interest:

  •     Programming: where, when, and why
  •     Planning: structures, organisation and the educational project
  •     Managing: roles and functions of the public and private sectors
  •     Quality: rules, control and supervision
  •     Integrated system: coordination, financing and access
  •     Perspective 0-6: ideas for the future

The navigable format, which makes it a flexible tool that can be adapted to the specific needs of its users, the ease of consultation, the possibility of using it to calibrate the design task in the specific contexts in which it operates.

Alongside the focus on the type of nursery, as the main ingredient of the offer system, the reader will find over 200 cards and a rich hypertextual system that allows direct access to specially set up databases, to updated data relating to demand. and to the offer of 0-6 year old services in regional, local or municipal territorial contexts, as well as the legislative and regulatory references currently in force in the various regional contexts.

The data presented are updated as of 31.12.2019, except those relating to nursery and supplementary services, updated as of 31.12.2018.
