The Third and fourth reports of the Italian Government on the condition of childhood and adolescence in Italy were sent to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in the original English version on 22 January 2009. The Italian version of the report was published under the title Diritti in crescita (Rights on the rise).
The report, which is periodically drawn up by the Italian State, illustrates the state of implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and of the two optional protocols on children in armed conflicts and on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.
The document, which was prepared by a special working group, was adopted by the Interministerial Committee on Human Rights on the basis of the draft copy approved by the National Observatory on Childhood and Adolescence.
The National Documentation and Analysis Centre for Childhood and Adolescence collaborated in the elaboration of the report by collecting all the necessary materials from the central and local administrations.
