Collection

The Library contains approximately 25,000 paper and digital documents in several languages and of different kinds (monographs, grey literature, selected articles, audio-visual materials) and about 200 national and international journals. The Library is indeed made up of two collections:

- the one of the Istituto degli Innocenti, specialized in psychological, pedagogical, social, legal and statistical issues related to childhood and adolescence – especially in Italy – which also contains the Alfredo Carlo Moro, Angelo Saporiti and Valerio Ducci collections and a historical section on the Istituto degli Innocenti;

- the one of the Unicef office of Research, specialized in documentation concerning the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; this collection also has a large legal section (on human rights, international treaties and juvenile justice) and an economic one (economy of development, socio-economic conditions of developing and transitional countries and condition of children in industrialized countries). Most of the documents are in English and in French.
