Notebook 38 - Bambini multimediali (Children and the media)

The research published in Quaderno 38 and coordinated by Marina D'Amato investigates the relationship between children and the media and the influence which the latter have on the upbringing and education of children.

It is evident that the mass media, with traditional and more innovative technologies, now play an important role in the lives of children already at a very early age.

The analysis of the images and language used in television, films, literature, radio, internet and videogames, as well as of the representation of children in the media shows the emergence of new mythologies and it helps define the identity of today’s children. The volume Bambini multimediali also takes a positive approach to the proposals of media education, showing examples of possible good practices both at a national and at an international level.
