Fighting child labour: handbook for labour inspectors

2007/02/26 Type of resource Practical guides and manuals Topics Child labour Activities The Centre's Publications

The Handbook is a tool for use by labour inspectors to support their vital role in identifying and eliminating high-risk child labour situations. The text provides an overview of their task and shows how to address the problem, not only in industry or urban settings, but also in informal sector environments, rural communities, and the countryside. Tools are provided to identify and address situations that do not comply with international labour standards or national legislation on child labour and labour inspection. In addition to a summary of the guidelines of ILO Convention No. 81 on labour inspection, the book offers an annotated bibliography and reports of two important international meetings on this subject in the appendix.
