Bibliographic review on childhood and adolescence 1/07 - Rights and children

The first issue of the journal for 2007 presents a thematic reading on children's rights. If it is true that the level of civilisation of a society can be judged on the basis of the attention and care given to its less privileged citizens, it is possible to say the same thing in relation to the world community in its entirety, on the basis of the treatment given to children and adolescents (Freeman M.).

On the basis of this assertion, the reading path is divided into four moments dedicated respectively to: the historical evolution of the rights of children and adolescents; the analysis of the main orientations that have developed on the rights of children; the position of sociology with regard to children and adolescents, with brief references to research conducted with the participation of children; and the question of the recognition of full citizenship for children.
