The Library provides the following services:

• bibliographic searches and specialized reference service (depending on the cases, the user may receive training or assistance on the use of search tools, or the documentalist may directly carry out searches by theme according to the user’s needs). The service is available both on site and from remote locations through the online form Ask the librarian)

 

• access to all the documents available in the library (the users have direct access to the shelves and they can consult the materials without limitations)

 

• access to the catalogues and databases on site and from remote locations, except forthe COBIRE (network of Tuscan libraries) databases, which can only be accessed on site

 

• access to electronic journals

 

• possibility to watch films in the library

 

• loan (up to 3 books + 3 videos/DVDs for 15 days, with the possibility to extend the loan period for another 15 days for books only)

 

• ILL - interlibrary loan (service whereby the user can borrow from other libraries documents that are not available in the Biblioteca Innocenti Library and/or borrow documents owned by the Library through other libraries)

 

• Document Delivery (possibility to request the delivery of photocopies of articles or book excerpts, within the limits of the law)

 

• copying of documents  (in compliance with the copyright legislation in force)
