One in five children in Europe is a victim of some form of sexual violence.

This is the figure that emerges from the Council of Europe's estimates, reported within the text under review containing the European Union strategy for a more effective fight against these types of sexual abuse.
The forms of sexual abuse and exploitation of children and adolescents take different forms and can be committed either offline (i.e. sexual activities with a minor or inducing him or her to engage in prostitution) or - as is well known in this age when the use of the internet is within reach of most of the world's population - online (i.e. forcing a minor to engage in sexual activities via live-streaming or exchanging child pornography via the internet)...
