Care Leavers in the Senate: Third National Conference Calls for a More Inclusive Future [1]

Fifty boys and girls from the Care Leavers Network Italy brought their voices to the Senate on the occasion of the Third National Conference, promoted by the Agevolando Association.
The meeting turned the spotlight on the rights of young people who leave the alternative care system on reaching adulthood.
The central issue was the risk of loneliness and difficulties that these young people face once they come of age. A document with 23 recommendations, the outcome of two years of work within the Erasmus+ Youth participation activities project, was submitted to institutional representatives.
Among the main requests are the extension of care leaver status until the age of 25 and the inclusion of unaccompanied foreign minors who reach the age of majority.
Information on the initiative can be found on the Cismai website [5].
