Save the Children has launched the first edition of the Save the Children Research Award, an initiative of the new Research Centre of the Italian branch of this organisation.

The aim is to expand and disseminate knowledge on the condition of children and adolescents in Italy and around the world.

The prize will be awarded by a jury made up of authoritative representatives from the world of research - including Professor Anna Maria Ajello, Tito Boeri and Enrico Giovannini - to the authors of a research project carried out in Italy that has contributed to enhancing knowledge on one or more dimensions of children's lives, with a significant impact on their rights.

Research may cover every discipline, with the exception of medical and pharmaceutical research.

To encourage young researchers, a special prize is envisaged for research coordinated and carried out by a researcher under the age of 35, which will include a “training dowry” worth 10,000 euros to be invested in training and studies.

Applications can be submitted by 15 May via Save the Children’s dedicated Data Hub page [5].
